Delight - Miami City Ballet
Created by choreographer Ricardo Amarante for Miami City Ballet, Delight is a vibrant and lyrical exploration of intimacy, rhythm, and emotional connection. The costume and set design shaped the visual atmosphere in dialogue with the choreography’s musicality and dynamic flow. Premiered in Miami in 2024, the production brought together an international creative team: choreography by Ricardo Amarante, scenography and costumes by Renê Salazar, and lighting design by Michael Mazzola.
The design emphasized clarity and resonance. Costumes extended the sensuality and fluidity of the movement, while scenographic elements framed the stage as a living environment — never imposing, but always in dialogue with the dancers’ presence. Delight affirmed the importance of visual language as an equal partner to movement and sound, offering audiences in Miami a layered aesthetic experience where choreography and scenography intertwined.
