Orfeu e Eurídice
Orpheus was a gifted musician whose music could charm mortals, animals, and the trees. Eurydice, his wife, one day was wandering with the nymphs when a shepherd named Aristaeus attempted to make an advance toward her. While running off, she was bitten by a snake and died. Being so grief-stricken Orpheus played his sorrows in his music which was heard by gods and men.
In such need for his love, he went in search Eurydice in the underworld, where he sang his sorrow with such perfection that Hades, Persephone and all of the ghosts of the underworld felt compassion. They let Eurydice leave with him under one condition; he could not look at her until they left the underworld...

Orfeu era um músico talentoso cuja música poderia encantar mortais, animais e árvores. Eurídice, sua esposa, um dia estava vagando com as ninfas quando um pastor chamado Aristaeus tentou fazer um avanço em sua direção. Enquanto fugia, ela foi mordida por uma cobra e morreu. Abatido, Orfeu entristece sua música que foi ouvida por deuses e homens.
Em tal necessidade por seu amor, ele foi procurar Eurídice no submundo, onde cantou sua tristeza com tal perfeição que Hades, Perséfone e todos os espíritos do submundo sentiram compaixão. Eles deixaram Eurydice sair com ele sob uma condição; Orfeu não podia olhar para ela até que ambos deixassem o submundo...
